Financial Services constitutes the largest industry in the world. Bob will share his insights about this industry and the specific opportunities for MEM graduates in Investment Banking and Private Equity.
Answers to “How is engineering relevant?” and “How is the MEM a major enhancement?” will be provided. In addition, Bob will share some of his personal experiences that led him ultimately to Investment Banking and selling businesses.
Bob Vanderselt is currently the Principal and Managing Partner of the Douglas Group; a private investment banking firm. His prior work experience began with Scott Paper Company in a variety of functions leading to Senior Management positions both in the US and in Asia, as President of the Consumer Products division of Pope & Talbot, where he built a consumer paper and diaper business, as Managing Partner of The Partnering Group, retail food and mass merchant consulting firm, and as CEO of Anchor Packaging Company. In this latter position, he retained the Douglas Group for buy-side engagements and ultimately for sell-side leading to his joining Debbie Douglas as a principal of the Douglas Group.
Bob received his BSE in mechanical engineering from Duke University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
