Undergraduate Degree: BE, Computer science engineering, SSN College of Engineering (India)
Why did you choose your program and area of study?
I'm an engineer by training but I've always been really good with people so I knew I'd end up in the management side of the business. I wanted a way to keep in touch with my engineering background and MEM was the perfect fit since it gave a bit of both worlds.
Briefly describe your Duke Experience.
My time at Duke was the best. For me it wasn't just about the classes or what I learnt from a book - It was about the people and the experience. I immersed myself with different projects and student groups, not just within my program, but also outside my department, so that I could learn and understand what's expected in the real world
What impact has the degree had on your career?
It's helped me understand that there's more to life than what we read in books or hear in a classroom. Nothing can substitute practical experience and there's always a different perspective that you may not have accounted for
What advice would you give to prospective applicants - those who are just beginning to explore graduate options at Duke?
Don't restrict your options. Keep an open mind and don't hesitate to explore new areas. For me this was an opportunity to learn what I was capable of and what I could be and I think it can be the same for you as long as you are willing to try.
What advice would you give to admitted students who are considering Duke?
Duke is an amazing place to be at. If you want to truly be a part of something and if you want to learn from more than just lectures then this is the place for you.
