Briefly describe your d-MEMP experience, including the impact on your career.

The d-MEMP program enabled me to take my real-world work experience and instantly apply the coursework to my career.  It opened a network of like-minded early career leaders who were passionate about becoming managers or improving their managerial skills in their chosen profession.  Having the Duke degree has set me up for the next level of leadership in my organization and enhanced my professional network and ability.

How did the program's flexibility suit your needs? How were you able to manage the program with your work/home life?

The program is very flexible.  I took the traditional 2 courses per semester option, and though demanding, the ability to view the courses online and be paired with other students who were working full time and had families had everyone in the same boat.  Fellow students went out of their way to find the best balance of schedule for teams to meet and collaborate.  Others were able to extend their program with one course per semester.  Duke will work with you to make the program fit your unique professional and personal situation.  The key is be disciplined in the coursework you take on, but don't hesitate in pumping the brakes if you need be to extend your time at Duke.

What advice would you give to prospective applicants?

Jump in with two feet and have fun.   Engage your fellow distance students and learn from them while building a professional network.  You'll find the coursework and student body will give you real-world applicable skills for enhancing your career.
